This page is really aimed at those visitors interested in commissioning my services... 'Commissioning' in this context simply means that I'm unable to sell pictures off shelves in the way a Landscape artist might, and so require that you commission my services for a one-off fee which is broken-up into a deposit and a completion payment. I try to guarantee my work against failure to satisfy a client's expectations in promising that 'on return of the rejected painting,' I will refund the fee less that portion deemed the 'deposit'... it should be noted that 'rejection' is something I've not yet experienced.
Commissions are enabled by first contacting me via my email address... dbcrocodil@gmail.com... usually a tentative contact that tries to establish deadlines and method, it being a time of reassurance since both parties are unknown quantities and trust is something earned rather than given lightly.
Most clients are happiest working from photographs, but I must stress that in such cases the quality must be of the highest order especially the photo's focus, colour, and attention to detail... after all, in such cases the client is saying that paintings able to exactly replicate the photograph are fully acceptable!
It goes without saying, that being able to see the subject, or take my own photograph is infinately preferable though I do realise that such a thing is too often impractical, and the reason why most of my paintings are from photos.
Payments are by cheque only, the fee determined being relative to the size and amount of work done... a single head & shoulder as opposed to two such heads... or a full length figure as opposed to one with an assembly of assorted still life or landscape additions, it's simply a matter of getting what one pays for.
